Identify the jurisdiction and purpose

A clinic website, prescription-product resource, health app and professional portal can be governed differently. Clarify the market, intended audience, service or product status, and whether the page is promotional, educational or transactional.

Review express and implied claims

A technically accurate sentence can still imply a broader benefit. Claims about outcomes, safety, superiority and typical results need appropriate substantiation and qualification. Client medical, legal and regulatory owners should approve them.

Treat tracking as data processing

Tags, pixels, booking tools and chat widgets may collect identifiers or reveal sensitive context. Review what is sent, to whom, under what legal basis and with what consent. A standard analytics setup is not automatically appropriate for healthcare.

Make compliance maintainable

Assign owners for service facts, clinician data, policies, consent settings and content review. Record approval and update dates. Launch-day compliance is not enough if information changes without governance.

Practical takeaways

  • Scope requirements by market, audience and page purpose.
  • Review implied meaning, not only the literal claim.
  • Inventory third-party tools and create ongoing ownership.
