Audience and market research

Understand how people decide — and why they stop

Research is useful when it changes a decision: audience, proposition, service design, website, content, acquisition or the enquiry experience.

01

Choose the method from the decision

Depth interviews

Use when the team needs to understand the sequence of a decision, the language people use and the reasons behind behaviour.

Quantitative survey

Use when defined groups or response patterns need to be compared through a suitable questionnaire and sample.

Journey and market evidence

Use search demand, reviews, calls, pages and competitors to understand already expressed behaviour and information gaps.

02

What the team receives

Audience language

How people describe the need, risk, desired outcome and available alternatives.

Decision differences

Where audiences, markets or stakeholder roles need separate propositions and journeys.

Actions, not themes

Changes to positioning, pages, content, acquisition, product or enquiry operations.

03

Selected research projects

101Quantitative study

Nude Modern

Completed responses for a cosmetic and cosmeceutical product study covering category needs, attitudes and structured comparisons.

25Depth interviews

Lera Lavski

Separate analysis of consumer and professional audiences for an education and expertise-led product.

04

What research can and cannot prove

Interviews explain language, motives and decision paths but do not establish the prevalence of each view across a market. Surveys can compare groups and response frequency when sampling and questions fit the decision. Search and review analysis show expressed behaviour, not the whole population.

We separate observations from interpretation, state limitations and identify what can be acted on now versus what needs further validation. The final output is a decision tool, not a collection of attractive quotes.
